Question - Staying HIGH

Ok got a question, I have been staying high since yesterday.  I have been doing my insulin like normal (I'm bad eat basically the same breakfast and lunch) but I keep staying way up - on my dexcom it's HIGH - no number just HIGH!  I bolus my usual lunch and did my shot of Symlin (I was at 106) then it went through the roof.  My question is - could it be the insulin? I'm not stressed or anything pretty mellow or is it just some weird shit going on?

Any ideas - would love to hear them.

Thanks

DANG LOWS!

Well at 1:30 last night, woke from a dead sleep, still don't know what woke me up, so I looked at my CBM - low - I think it was 50.  Crap, then it started hitting me, you know the shakes, fuzzy feeling, so got up and got crackers (knew being that low I needed food not tabs), didn't help - went and got juice, didn't help.  Went and looked in the cabinet where sometimes candy can be hiding - yes reese's peanut butter cups! Ate two finally felt better went to sleep thinking ok now I'm going to be so high when I get up.  But it was only 216, I know still high but at least not as bad as I thought it would be.

Thanks pancreas, I love getting woke up in the middle of the night!!!

I FEEL OLD!!

Well I went to my nephew's graduation Tuesday, I still can't believe he graduated!  You know that means in 4 years my son will be graduating then the next year my daughter!  Still can't believe it.  Oh well time flies when your having fun.

My sister made a wonderful dip while I was at her house - of course it wasn't diabetic friendly, but it was so good.  It had mayo, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, bacon bits and some kind of sweet syrup on top (of course I'm getting a bottle).  You heat it in the oven and use town house crackers to dip.  It doesn't sound real good (I turned my nose up at first) but let me tell you it was the bomb!!  Of course she also had to make a chocolate bunt cake with chocolate chips and it was the same - to die for!!  Did I tell you she is diabetic too!  I guess that's what you get living in the south!

AWESOME THINGS

Today's topic the most awesome thing you’ve done because of diabetes:

I'm not sure what awesome things I have done because of diabetes, maybe finally starting a blog, I have always just read them but now finally doing one.

Maybe taking it in a little bit different direction to awesome things that have changed for people with diabetes over the years.

That we have meters that are fast.  Never had to do the pee or have the slower meters.
That we have the option of having a pump with or without tubing.
That we have pumps instead of having to do shots.
That we have CGM to help with the highs and lows.
The one thing that still hasn't changed is the dang finger pricking!!!

The best one of all is that we have made our own little community!  I'm so glad I have found it!!!  Thank you everyone, I don't feel alone anymore!

Ten Things I hate about you DIABETES!

Well since Blogger was down here is my post from yesterday!

The topic today is ten things I hate about diabetes..........

1.    The low's and high's anytime of day - why do you have to do them anyway?
2.    Wearing a  pump and CGM doesn't make me feel attractive with them on.
3.    Knowing where every bathroom is because I have to pee all the time!
4.    That you don't like my favorite foods
5.    The roller coaster ride my blood levels do
6.    Having to have a whole cabnit set aside for all of your crap
7.    Waking me up in the middle of the night
8.    Those wonderful finger pricks that I have to do
9.    Having to change pump and really hate changing the CGM
10.  Having to go to the doctors every three months to see what havoc you have done on my A1C
